Managing Steps

Learn how to edit and organize steps within a progression

Managing Steps

Once you've created steps in your progression, you'll want to organize and manage them. This guide covers editing steps and using the visual tools to manage your progression flow.

Step Actions

From the Progression Editor, each step in the table has the following actions:

  • Edit — Reopen the step dialog to modify any field (name cannot be changed after creation).
  • Duplicate — Create a copy of the step with all its settings. You'll need to provide a new unique name.
  • Delete — Remove the step and all its connections (confirmation required).

Using the Tree View

The Tree View provides a visual diagram of your entire progression using ReactFlow. Each step appears as a node, and connections appear as edges between them. The layout is automatically arranged by the system. This view is especially useful for:

  • Seeing the overall structure of your progression at a glance
  • Identifying disconnected steps that aren't linked to the main flow
  • Understanding branching paths and merge points

Switch between Table View and Tree View using the toggle at the top of the Progression Editor.

What's Next

This guide covered the basics of creating progressions and steps. More advanced features — including multi-progression dependencies, skill trees, connections, randomizers, and complex branching — will be covered in upcoming documentation.
